"Free The Panchen Lama Now" Bike Rally
"Free The Panchen Lama Now" Bike Rally by Regional Tibetan Youth Congress, Minnesota from Washington D.C. to New York from April 18th to April 25th, 2007
"China abducted Tibet’s 11th Panchen Lama, second highest spiritual leader, at the age of only six in 1995 and he has already been detained incommunicado over twelve years. No international agency has either seen or heard from him since abduction. China refuses access to the boy to every international observer whether governmental or NGO’s. Let us not forget that the previous Panchen Lama died at the age of 51 in early 1989 under mysterious circumstances five days after delivering a scathing attack on China’s misrule in Tibet. It was alleged that China murdered him and China imposed martial law in many parts of Tibet for several months thereafter to control the string of protests sparked by alleged China’s hand in his sudden death."
